We want to empower women to make good decisions about their health. These resources provide basic information about various health conditions and issues. Always consult a doctor for a specific diagnosis and to discover how you can properly address your individual health condition.
Body Mass Index
BMI stands for Body Mass Index. It is a number that shows body weight adjusted for height. BMI can be calculated with simple math using inches and pounds. All persons who are obese or overweight should try not to gain additional weight. In addition, those who are obese or who are overweight with other risk factors should consider losing weight. Whatever your BMI, talk to your Women’s Care of the Bluegrass provider to see if you are at an increased risk for disease and if you should lose weight. Even a small weight loss (just 10% of your current weight) may help to lower the risk of disease.

Health Maintenance Record
Take charge of your healthcare by maintaining record of all your health screening tests. The Women’s Care of the Bluegrass maintenance record lists those tests necessary for early detection of cardiovascular disease, thyroid disease, and cancers affecting women. It will also help you keep track of necessary immunizations, and recommends other screening tests that will help you stay healthy.
