Choosing where to have your child can be a lot to think about for a mom to be. In thinking about my options, I chose to have my both of my daughters at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center because of the level of personal care we were given! Besides the convenience of being so close to home, I knew that any questions I had were going to be answered or they would help me find who could answer the questions for me. From classes offered to medical and payment questions, they were there finding the answers for me. During my stay at EMRMC, I was constantly checked on by a nurse or doctor. When I needed extra help moving around, getting to the bathroom or taking a shower, they were there providing me the assistance that I needed and more. This was not just normal nursing care, but they went above and beyond to give me excellence of care! I became very close to my nurses as they were assisting me in one of the most special times in my life and I will be forever grateful for all they did.
One memory I will never forget is when I had my first daughter in 2012. It was the middle of the night and I was very sore from my c-section but I knew I needed to try to nurse my daughter. I called for the nurse and even though she was not a lactation consultant, she helped me figure out how to get my daughter to latch.
This kind of care is why I chose to go back to EMRMC for my second pregnancy.
